Well…A long weekend is finally over and I am getting ready for an even longer week. We spent this past weekend partly in St. Pete and partly on the road. I got to spend a couple hours just hanging on my Parent’s new boats and enjoying the weather. It was really quite nice.
I missed hooking up with Tony Sheng at the House Blend Cafe, but it was great to see that place jam packed with people. They are on the way to developing some real community there and I look forward to seeing them continue to grow.
Sunday was a no Caffeine day for me. On Saturday I had just a little too much. From half a pot of coffee before we left the house, a quick stop off at Starbucks, a huge Dr. Pepper on the way home, and then a 20oz Mocha Latte at House Blend, I woke up Sunday feeling caffeinated.
Church was great. We kicked off the On the Road with Jesus series. We are presenting a Holy Land Travels history at the beginning of each sermon. I play the tour guide and tell them about the Places that Jesus was at during our story, and then Phil presents the scripture and preaches the message. In two weeks, we are going to reverse that scenario.
During Bible Study, I got the privilege of disturbing the class. We were making a list of the bad sins and someone said sex. I told them we had to clarify, because “I have sex all the time and it is not a sin.” This caused several minutes of uncontrollable chaos followed by some discussion about the fact the sex is not a bad thing. Sex was created by God. Good stuff. One of those joys of youth ministry.
After Church we went to lunch with a friend of my wife’s who she used to work with. We had a great time and some good conversation. We went to my favorite little Chinese restaurant so that was good. Orange Chicken and Egg rolls. I know that there is a lot of “Chinese” food that is actually good for you, but I can’t resist the deep fried. So good.
We did some shopping, fell asleep early, and made some plans for this next week.
Wednesday I am in Daytona for a meeting about FCYC. Thursday and Friday are the Youth Pastor’s Summit. Saturday is my oldest daughter’s birthday party (she will be 4 next week). And somewhere in all that I have to get my Holy Land tour ready for Sunday.
I am hoping to blog some of the Youth Pastor’s Summit and I have a few thoughts and recent discoveries I want to share, but understand if I don’t get to them. This is going to be a crazy week.

I love it. Classic.
