Thinking outside the box since 1978

I choose to live and think outside the box. The purpose of this site (and this company) is to help you (your person, company, brand, or product) do the same. From simple ideas that change a perspective to radical shifts that redefine the world, it is time to start living like there is No More Box.

No More Box started as an idea that became a philosophy that has become a small design and consulting firm. The idea is this. When looking for creative “out of the box” solutions or ideas, the first thing you need to realize is this, there is no box.

Did you catch that? That box you’ve been trying to think outside of, its not real.

So what’s the problem? The problem is that when you are “thinking outside the box,” no matter how far outside the box you think or how close to the norm you still are, you continue to reference the box. Creative success is defined by how far “out of the box” your solution is. But we don’t want to push too far either, right?

Now imagine a world without “the box”. A truly clean piece of paper to get started with. But unlike that little piece of paper, you fresh start doesn’t have edges or limits to box you in. What can you do now?

That is what No More Box is all about. That is the focus and energy we bring to projects and that kind of thinking is what excites us from day to day. It isn’t about following the rules and coming up with the “right answer”, it is about finding the best answer to meet the need at hand.

Living outside the box is an adventure, but living within site of the box, continuing to pretend that it is real isn’t quite the adventure you were hoping for. The difference is “going on safari” at some wildlife theme park or going to Africa and driving across lion infested terrain. The view may appear to be the same, but the reality is much different.
